Local Treasures features Janice Rafael’s representational and abstract images of Gibsons, BC.  Janice’s art shows vibrant local imagery expressed through acrylic and mixed media paintings and origami book folding.  Materials used are primarily recycled materials sourced locally – canvases, frames, books.  I’m fundamentally concerned with capturing and representing the natural world through recycled materials.
